Children from preschool to 12th grade are invited to bring their parents, tutus or guardians to receive free basic school supplies Saturday at the 11th annual Puna Roundtable Ready To Learn School Supplies Distribution at two locations.
Children from preschool to 12th grade are invited to bring their parents, tutus or guardians to receive free basic school supplies Saturday at the 11th annual Puna Roundtable Ready To Learn School Supplies Distribution at two locations.
Supplies will be distributed from 8:30-11:30 a.m. at Maku‘u Farmers Market, 15-2131 Keaau-Pahoa Road in Pahoa, and St. Theresa Parish Hall, 18-1355 Volcano Highway in Mountain View. Adults must be accompanied by a child. School supplies are given on a first-come, first-served basis.
All children will receive:
• 1 pack colored markers
• 2 composition books
• 1 ruler
• 1 container glue
• 4 pencils
• 3 pens
• 4 pocket portfolios
In addition, children grades K-5 will receive:
• 1 pack crayons
• 1 scissors
Children grades 6-12 will receive:
• 1 pack binder paper
• 1 three-ring binder
Light refreshments will be provided at both sites. Keiki ID and Project Vision will be available at Maku‘u Farmers Market.
The distribution of school supplies is presented by Neighborhood Place of Puna and Puna Roundtable Ready to Learn Committee in an effort to help Big Island families ensure that their keiki begin the school year “Ready to Learn.”
